ATCs, California, etc.

Sun Dec 21, 2008, 9:59 PM
It's been Way over a month since I last updated this so I figured I should probably do so. As anyone following closely has probably noticed, I've gotten really into making artist trading cards lately. For those who are unfamiliar with these, basically you make art (generally 2d) that's 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, the size of a usual playing card or baseball card (or pokemon or magic or whatever), and you trade them with other people. My collection of cards is growing fast and I now have over 100 tiny works of other people's art ^_^. If you're interested trading for one of my cards, let me know. A lot of the ones i've posted have already been traded away, but I have quite a few left to choose from.
Currently visiting mom's side of the family in california for christmas. This bit of cali is rather cold and rainy at the moment which isn't much different than the weather at home. Went to the San Francisco Dickens Fair which was a lot of fun, got to meet a bunch of other steampunks including the crew of the HMS Chronabelle. Very glad I got to go, but less so that I had to leave so early as my grandfather was not feeling well (my grandparents were performing there with their troupe of morris dancers).

Various Updates

Mon Oct 6, 2008, 7:57 AM
So, I successfully got a local group of people together to make and swap Artist Trading Cards, as well as a swap on sparegoggles (the interim forums until the brassgoggles steampunk forum comes back). Classes going well enough, looking forward to the start of Humans verses Zombies (a campus-wide game involving nerf guns) and Halloween (Athens halloween is one of the biggest parties out there).
Making stuff as usual. Next silkscreening project will, if all goes according to plan, be on shirts.

Classes begin

Mon Sep 8, 2008, 12:25 PM
I've moved into a new dorm room and decorated my wall in postcards that I got at museums in Europe. Classes are starting, my schedule is lenient giving me plenty of spare time and letting me sleep in. It's nice to see all my friends again. I've a number of ideas for projects, we'll see what comes of them. Modified playing cards may be involved...

I get to go to dragon*con! i get to go to dragon*con! ^_^
I can't wait! Will be dressing steampunk, of course. It's going to be awesome. There will be pics, of course.

In other news, still working out my schedule for fall, but I got into the silkscreening class I wanted to get into. I'm really excited, I have so many ideas for silkscreen projects.

Oh, is there any interest in buying any of the copper/wax seal broaches? I may put them on etsy but don't know if anyone'd be interested.

edit: It was awesome as expected! Pics here: [link]
