It's been a while since I've written a journal entry, because it's always been a while since I've written a journal entry. But I have a few updates for you guys as well as a few things I'd like to get input on.
Firstly, I have decided to add ACEOs to my etsy store: [link]
For those unclear on the terminology, ACEOs (Art Cards: Editions and Originals) are basically the same thing as ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) in that both are works of art 2.5 by 3.5 inches, but ATCs are traded with other artists while ACEOs can be sold. Nearly all of my art cards are going to continue to be traded rather than sold, but I wanted the option to purchase to be there for people who wanted one of my miniatures but were unable or unwilling to trade for them.
However, I would like a little bit of input: Which cards should I put for sale? I want it to be some of my best work and also want to offer a variety. Feel free to offer suggestions, even of very old work (since you'd be amazed how many older cards I still have in my stash un-traded).
Secondly, I am still always up for trading ATCs. If you see a card of mine you're interested in, just ask. Most of the very old ones are gone, but I do have a couple hundred cards available at any given time.
Thirdly, I'm just starting a large and possibly ill-advised project, to draw a tarot deck. However, not a normal tarot deck--one from a fictional world (no world in particular and containing references to a number of fictions) with a completely different set of cards than usual. I have pencil sketches done for most of the major arcana (I might do an entire deck of major-arcana styled cards, because suit cards are boring) at this point but need help staying motivated. Make me finish this, guys!
Fourthly, do any of you have experience with metal clay? I'm considering investing in some and a minimal setup for it, but would like to talk with people who've used it before first.
